That is a good word Des!

Yes, ignorance can be easily allowed to creep in unawares. The casual "lack of knowing" due to being young in the Lord or too lazy to research or work to understand is something to be dealt with continually for sure. But there is a greater danger...In the NT there are 2 words translated "ignorance". In 1 Pet. 1:14 & 2:15 it is talking about a "LACK OF KNOWLEDGE", which is what you are refer to below.

1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance (lack of knowing).
1Pe 2:15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men (lack of knowing).

BUT in Eph. 4:17-19 ignorance is talking about knowing but "IGNORING"...This is very dangerous...How many Christians DO "KNOW", but CHOOSE to IGNORE???

Eph 4:17-19: This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance (knowing, but choosing to ignore) that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

What a dangerous place to be!

Lord, as we dive more into Your River, please help us to be studious in learning MORE & MORE of You AND Your word, but at the same time Father, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE always remind us to mindful of what we KNOW, so we will be kept in that place of safety!

I don't know about you but the river has ruined me for life forever...and I LOVE IT! But, I want the fresh flow to continue in my life, my family, and my church (FCC Orangevale Ca)!

 

There are many threats to stopping or clogging up that flow: pride, religous attitudes, sin, judgment etc.

 

The one that is overlooked the most by us river dwellers is one that we do not like to talk about...because it is on the intellectual side of life. That threat is ignorance.

 

To be a people of God we must pursue him with every ounce of our being. That means ALL our being. This inlcudes our mind. Pastor Rich Oliver (FCC) recently spoke about the battlefield of the mind! Traditionally Pentecostal & Charismatic people has shunned scholarship...this is a mistake. We river people need river theologians (Martin Scott for example) who can help us stay away from ideas that are contrary to God and will stop or hinder the flow of the river.

 

By the way...ingnorance does not mean one is stupid. What it means is either the Christian is young or to lazy to research or work to understand the Word. Pastor Matt Oliver (FCC) has started a class on understanding the Bible, how to interpret and read the Bible. These type of classes keep us from becoming like the person James speaks of being tossed back and forth in the wind. (James 1)

 

The more I dive in the river...the more ingorance is revealed in my life along with other things I would rather not discuss. (Ha!) But, it pushes me to cry to the Lord "I want to understand and know you more!"

 

As river dwellers and swimmers let's emrbace Christ with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind! Let us continue in our pursuit of the things of God and dive in! As you do...watch out for the trap of ingorance! Lets continue to strive and push in the river and what God is doing!

 

May you all be blessed and encouraged today and do not stop swimming!

My class was over about 9:30 PM this Wed. night. I try to sneak into Club Retro after my Wed.class whenever I can. Again, God's presence was there in a saturated form. As soon as I stepped in, it just hit me and kept drawing me closer and closer to Him. Worship by Consecrated, led by Cherie Davis was amazing and absolutely anointed and over the top. Their music on Wed. night ushered any hungry heart straight into the Throne-Room of God. Wow ! the mighty, awesome and sweet presence of God. Thank you Lord for Consecrated, thank you Lord for Andrew and Cherie Davis, thank you Lord for Pastors Matt and Siobhan Oliver, thank you Lord for every member of their leadership-team and for all the other wonderful young people who are attending Club Retro. Thank you Lord for raising up Pastor Matt and Siobhan as warrior leaders for this young generation. Thank you for the vision you have given them and for the willingness and the boldness to run with it. May your Holy Spirit continually lead them and guide them on the path of the Mighty Warriors.

Help them to keep on pressing in on the enemy forces and help them to see that retrieving is never an option. In your Mighty, Precious name I pray. Amen.

 

They are warriors indeed, so are we, they are just a younger version of this warrior generation. We were all born for such a time as this. There's a cry that goes out for the Deborahs, Daniels, Esthers and Nehemiahs to come forth, to rise up and take a stand in an extremely pivotal historical time such as ours, for justice and righteousness. You are either a Deborah, a Daniel an Esther or a Nehemiah. You were born for such a time as this. Now, arise and shine and take back the territories the enemy has stolen from you. This is your time. You were born for such a time as this. Seize the moment, step into your destiny and live it to the fullest. We will never have a moment like this. Why ? Because this is our moment and if we miss it, the bitter consequences of our disobedience will be reflected on GENERATIONS to come. We wanna be remembered by our children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren etc..., as Great Warriors, not as cowards who caved in and stood idly by in a crucial time in history. Remember ?! We are history-makers !!!! This is our greatest ever opportunity to make history!

Just the other day as I was reading Ecclesiastes my mind drifted back to a famous discussion we had here in Revival Fire quite a few years ago about the river “is over”; “it stopped”, “what happened it does not run any more?’ and other such expressions trying to address the question why the river seemed to have slowed down or even “felt” stopped.  It was quite an interesting discussion.

 

Reading Ecclesiastes 1:7 I found God was showing me what is the main reason why so many times the river seems to stop, or better said why revival starts flows for some time and then stops, as if it had been exhausted.  I that old times discussion I remember we said that the river of God is always there and if we do not see it any more or we do not hear its roaring anymore most probably it is because we might have wandered too far away from the river to see it of hear it, leave aside to bath in it.

 

Revival is a nurtured in the river of God, a move of God that takes its waters straight from the throne of God. While reading Ecclesiastes 1:7 that says “All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea doth not overflow: unto the place from whence the rivers come, they return, to flow again.” It made me think and actually it put a red warning on my heart and spirit. The rivers flow and go to the sea and then they return to where they came from to flow again. We know the process, the river flows down the mountain, runs into the sea, water evaporates, brings rain and snow up in the mountain and the river gets full again.

 

Maybe revivals simply die when we stop giving back to God what came from Him?

 

Kathryn Kuhlman was serious about God’s glory and so she taught and prayed: We give you the glory, even for what you will do we now give you the glory.

 

The river of revival flows into our lives and brings blessing as it runs, but it must run into the nations as well because a revival that does not affect the society outside our walls stops short of being a true revival. Furthermost and most importantly the river of revival must go back to God. Then and only then revival will go on and on, renewing itself in the process.

Please review the following email that was sent out LAST WEEK about what Revival Fire is all about.  Please discuss politics elsewhere (who to vote for, who is or is not “God’s choice”, etc…), as Revival Fire is not the place for this.  Any more postings of this nature will have the person removed.  Please do not take the time to write us and tell us how vital it is that Christians are informed and involved – we get that and we do that in the proper forums.  Thank you for your attention on this matter.

 

NOTE:  We do not see the posts before they are sent out.  Sometimes, people will submit things that do not fall within the guidelines for Revival Fire posts.  The Revival Fire email conference is here for four main reasons…

 

1)     Posting testimonies about the power of God

 

This is one of the best things about Revival Fire – testimonies are fuel for revival.  We NEED to hear your testimonies.  Share about power encounters, marketplace ministry breakthroughs, financial provision, fire of God services…you get the idea.  You just need to get the testimonies out!

 

2)     Promoting upcoming events

 

If you have an event that you need to get promoted, get it posted here.  We ask that you submit the same event ONCE a week.  You can insert graphics into your email – just know that a few subscribers will not be able to download those images.  We also ask that the events are “revival-related” – healing conferences, miracles services, training sessions, etc…

 

3)     Sharing insights relating to revival. 

 

If God has been speaking to you about powerful truths, use Revival Fire to blog what God is saying.  Many people share spiritual insights, others submit prophetic words.  NOTE:  This is not a Prophetic Word conference only – if you would like to submit a prophetic word, make sure you list what fellowship you are part of (for accountability purposes).

 

4)  Building on previous submissions to Revival Fire

 

If something is shared that resonates in you and you want to share your thoughts, do it – when discussion is going, this helps build the strength of Revival Fire (NOTE:  if you disagree, guard against character attacks or name calling – both of which has occurred in the past)

 

WHAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE ON REVIVAL FIRE

(Members who do the following can be immediately removed)

 

1)  Asking for donations for a ministry or missions project

 

2)  Blasting previous posts to the entire conference; if you have something you need to say to the person writing the post, you can hit reply and their email address will appear in the TO column.  It will go to only that person, not the entire conference.

 

3)  Numerous postings in a day

 

NOTE:  If you want to promote an event and share a testimony on the same day, that is fine.  You do not need to post 3 testimonies a day, plus comment to the group about every other posting.  Also, remember to post your upcoming event only once a week on Revival Fire.

 

4)  Revival Fire is not a Prophetic Word submission site – there always needs to be accountability with prophecy.  With Revival Fire, we do not see the postings before they go up – we believe that people will be mature and responsible with their posts.  Because of the setup of Revival Fire, it is not conducive to post prophetic words as we at RF do not personally know everyone affiliated with this list.

Dear Rev Hunter,

 Recently the song "On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand" has been ringing in my ears & flowing from my mouth.  Surely our trust & hope is not in a president or other leader.  The good Lord taught me years ago that He is above politics & religion, ALL politics & ALL religion.  The day that we think "God is on MY side, MY cause, MY agenda" is the day we miss Him by a mile.  Because a great price has been paid for our freedom I am one who is adamant about honoring that sacrifice by voting, as it sounds you are.  While no one running for office is "perfect", "no not one" (in the 1Cor 6:5 sense) It is our responsibility as society influencers to pray & also be informed about our candidates.  After all, people only get into office if we vote them in.   While it is also hard to get a straight story in the news these days (because of the prince of the power of the air's influence no doubt) we can research ourselves a bit, getting as close to "source" as possible.  Since the world seems obsessed with Mrs. Palin right now, I know you'd be interested to know that the report of her charging for rape-kits is bogus.  After research, this was refuted on only one news channel.  The emergency rooms (as in every other state) charge the insurance companies of insured patients.  You'll be relieved to know that NOT ONE rape victim has ever been charged under Palin's administration.  I have family & many friends in Alaska & have been there often.  Contraception is readily available at no cost to low income recipients.   I have never been to Iraq, but do have Iraqi friends, Muslims.  One friend is a surgeon who escaped on foot in the middle of the night to avoid being killed because he wouldn't "cover up" an obvious murder.  This physician tells us that women are better off now, being given the vote, but that it is the Islamic extremist who are suppressing, raping & killing them there.  Women are of little value in Muslim societies.   Long before me, a great general said  "War is hell".   While we all weep over it now, we also look eagerly to the swords being beaten into plowshares.  We also "do all we can, for all we can, while we can" here at home.   It is a thorny issue to sort out looking at politics today in America.  It is sad that the leaders of Fannie & Freddie, who are the major contributors to the cave-in are advisors for & huge contributors to Mr. Obama's campaign, sad that ACORN community activists (the organization that Mr Obama worked for) intimidated banks into caving in to offer mortgages to people they knew could never pay them & that now that same organization has been charged with gross voter fraud, signing up cartoon characters & the entire Dallas Cowboy's football team to vote in another state.   Yes, these are perilous times & it is hard to see who the "good guys & bad guys" are.  That's why we must, as His dear children, walk in love & honor for ALL men, but also be as "wise as a serpent & harmless as a dove" as we navigate these troubled waters as a country together.  No matter who wins this election they will surely need our prayers more than any president in recent history.   I'd also like to say that I honor your pure heart toward widows, orphans & those is need.  It is God's heart as well.  May our hearts grow two sizes in that category :)   Blessings, Amelia G  (if anything I have written sounds like political endorsement, it is not & I trust no offense will be taken)

the can of worms has been open - and I am not looking forward to all of the email posts that are about to follow - and from one who helps oversee the Revival Fire postings, I ask that you all keep the posts focused on testimonies, what God is doing in the region.
It is clear that the devil is using clever deception to decieve Gods people.
The whole point of deception, is that one does not think that they are decieved.
The fact that any Christian could be supporting a terrorist like Obama, just shows you the level of deception at which the enemy is suceeding.
The problem with abortion is not the fact the people are not getting contraceptions like some think they should.  The problem is people taking responsability for their actions, or not taking responsability.
I do not want my children growing up in an age where we encourage lack of responsability or that the government has all the answers.  I want my child growing up Biblicaly, and taking re sponsability for themselves and for those and the world around them.
We all know, the last post about this was silly, silly in the sense that there are too many on this revival posting site that will send a barage towards them with responses.
Let us remember
we war not against flesh and blood.
We war against the spirit of this age
a spirit which is decieving the minds of, now Christians, and a nation.
Let us intercede - and then let us frustrate this evil spirit by BOLDLY standing for justice and righteousness.  Let us agitate the enemy by speaking with LOUD voices the promises of a mighty God!
