[revival-fire] Friends--regarding the Berkely posting

Friends--

I have received a number of e-mails regarding a posting--- ."The Glory is Falling in Berkeley!"

 

I am all for MORE OF THE LORD moving in the Bay area-- and I suspect that it will look different than in most our fellowships and communities, and I would hope it would be very creative.

That said, this particular post did raise a number of issues, questions and to be blunt--RED FLAGS.

 

We have, for now, removed this individual from posting on Revival Fire, and have done this to not allow for further confusion and to give us time to gain information.  And YES, I have sent him an e-mail asking for dialogue, and information.

 

We do have this rather troubling information on the school that is mentioned in the posting... Pacific School of Religion

 

Since its founding in 1866, Pacific School of Religion (PSR) has served as a multi-denominational Christian seminary. PSR stands at a remarkable crossroads of faith and learning communities. Located in the broadly diverse San Francisco Bay Area on the axis of the continental United States and the Pacific Rim, PSR offers an unparalleled view of global relationships and currents of cultural change. Throughout its history, PSR has been on the cutting edge of emerging movements for change in the Christian tradition, representing an early voice for the equality of women, resisting racial prejudice and war, and advocating for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and the economically disadvantaged.

PSR has formal relationships with three denominations: the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Half of PSRs students come from these three traditions. Other PSR students come from faith traditions as diverse as Quaker, Unitarian Universalist, the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and several other mainline denominations and new religious movements.

PSR's faculty members represent a wide spectrum of denominational and cultural backgrounds. In addition to traditional seminary subjects like bible, church history, theology, ethics, pastoral care, and worship leadership, PSRs faculty specialize in subjects as diverse as art and religion, sexuality, and world religions, and are particularly concerned with issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, and economic justice.

 

I would welcome any and all moves of the Holy Spirit on this campus , and in its students and staff --at the same time, this School does not represent the spiritual DNA of Revival Fire.

 

So to all of you that e-mailed me and the team here at Revival Fire-- thanks and we are on it.

We remind you that we DO NOT preview the postings before they go out to you--the Revival Fire community.

That would be impossible-- so we rely on you to help us keep on track, and KEEP FANNING THE FLAMES OF REVIVAL.

I would encourage YOU-- to post on what the Holy Spirit is doing in your community of Faith, in your fellowship , in your region.

Let us hear from YOU --those things that will encourage and build up the Body of Christ.

 

At the same time-- I do pray over this School and over this region for the Holy Spirit to bring life and freedom and to pour out on the Bay area.

 

I cannot help but include the following as a closing word-- especially with THANKSGIVING so close....

Philip. 4:4-9
    Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! [5] Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.      I don't have a thing against the move of the Spirit at all! But as for me and my family there is a "BIG RED FLAG" that goes up on this one. Seek the Lord and ask Him yourself, if it is glorifing to Him for you to be there. Then do what He asks of you.

[revival-fire] Christian Drum Circle This Friday in Sausalito @ 7:30

SAUSALITO CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP joyfully invites you to a special Worship Night with RICHARD & KIP TAKEDA who be leading us in a CHRISTIAN DRUM CIRCLE this Friday, November 21st at 7:30 pm.

 

This special event came about as a result of a prophetic word we received at the last Leader's Advance at Bethel Church in Redding that we would have a Christian drum circle as a form of intercession.  Richard and Kip will be teaching on drumming, drumming as intercession, and on the breaker annointing.  They will be providing some drums for us to use.  Feel free to bring your own drum if you have one. 

 

Please join as we worship the Lord through drums, and pray for breakthrough for the region!

Directions:

- From 101, take the Sausalito/Marin City Exit

- Follow the signs to Sausalito/Bridgeway, and travel one mile south on Bridgeway

- Turn right on Easterby, just past the covered bus stop on the right

- Make an immediate left on Filbert, and follow Filbert up the hill, and around the corner to the left.  The church is located on the right, with parking available on the street. 

Overflow Parking: is available nearby at the Sausalito Library/Civic Center parking lot located on Bee Street.  To get there from the church, continue on Filbert, turn left on Napa, and immediately right on Bonita, and left on Bee.  The library parking lot is on the right, between Bee and Caledonia Streets.  To reach the church, walk from the parking lot, to the top of Bee street at Bonita, and walk up the public stairway to Filbert.  Turn right, and walk to the church, located two-tenths of a mile on the left.

[revival-fire] Water - Two

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******    

 

So I began my study of water at the beginning of all things – Genesis. I wanted to know when God created water. Ha! I thought I knew my creation history – boy was I wrong! Verses one and two say He created the heavens and the earth, but that darkness was over the "deep" (water), and the Spirit of God was hovering over the water. It doesn't say anywhere when He actually created water. (I checked all seven days!) So was the water already there?

 

On the first day, He created light, and on the second day, He separated the waters with the sky. It says He separated the water "above" and the water "below." So what happened to the water "above?" Is the kingdom of Heaven immersed in water?? On the third day, it was only the water under the sky which He separated to create land and seas.

 

So has water been around always, just as God? Is it a part of God? God said he created us after His own image. The human body is over 80% water. (???)

And what about that warm, quiet, safe environment in which we were all formed? For nine months we inhabited our mother's womb, floating freely and breathing in amniotic fluid – Water.

 

Water quenches, water cleanses, water purifies, water heals. Water sustains life.

Is God's presence in that waterfall more than just a powerful voice?

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******    

. . . and I am getting really happy about it! We all have troubles, and drawbacks, and frustrations, and a lot of times we mess up! Actually, it seems sometimes we mess up big time! Yet it seems to me that we are not trying to hide it. This does not mean we are to bask and relish on our having problems and become proud of our messes, but the fact that the Holy Spirit is leading people into being open even about the not so good areas of our life is for me a big green light of hope into an amazing future of blessings and revival.

 

Why revival? How does revival relate to messed up people? People who have all their ducks in a row, leading aseptic perfect lives with no hiccups or surprises seem to develop a life that does not expect; the expectancy factor is lost. Would this be the reason why God seems to have a knack for unlikely people: boy do we have hope then!

 

The law of Entropy states in a nutshell that the universe tends to move to a state of order. Now, this that sounds so good is not, not really. The state of perfect order is achieved when everything is dead!

 

Look at this church: One had a row with another about aspects of ministry. Another did not get involved for fear of what someone else would say. Yet the other totally shunned and shut out his fellow minister rejecting him. They have a messy situation with the fellowship with some ladies complaining against another group of ladies. Some were praying and when the answer came they did not believe it. One was advised not to go, but he got himself into trouble because he did not hear. Another time one was taken to court but his fellow church members and ministers left him alone with no help. Some complained very harshly because one was asking for financial help for the ministers. Some were trying to use money to buy gifts. They were divided. They argued about doctrine. They exasperate each other at times. Many times they hurt each other with attitudes and words. Yet all the time people were blessed, saved, healed, restored, transformed, and the Holy Spirit moved big time with them!

 

Wow! And that was the most powerful church in history: the church in the New Testament!  I do not want to come to church to meet masks as if every week we have a Venice Carnival going one for a few hours. I want a church with real people, not one where everybody wears a mask that hides the real "me" or the real "you". Some put on a mask of "all is well" and some put on a mask of "please pray for me", yet others put on a mask to say "oh how concerned I am" while the few that dare show themselves in their real-reality are usually frowned upon.

 

I want a church of Pauls, who messed up his ministerial relationships; and of Peters who play with the wrong crowd at times; and of Phillips that doubted, were rebuked and drawn back to faith: and all that action happened within the inner circle of Jesus; they failed but remained real close to Jesus. Too long to mention all the others because I would have to mention hundreds.

 

I want a church of messed ups who simply linger in the same room where Jesus is: for then there is hope for that church and for the city where that church is planted.

Dear Revival Fire Friends,

For several years I have a used a company to create my e-mails with nice graphics and photos that many people enjoy.  I have been posting some of these on revival fire that I think are of interest to the revival fire community.  I posted one a couple of days ago by a new method that I "stumbled upon."  To my shock and dismay using this method has caused the Constant Contact server to generate several e-mails "from me" that I never wrote nor intended to write.  This caused a lot of confusion and excess junk e-mail. 

Please accept my sincere apologies and my pledge to not let this happen again.  I will never use this method to send an e-mail to revival fire in the future.  Again, please accept my apology.

Amazing things have been happening at Club Retro the past couple of weeks... We have been seeing Salvations, Deliverences, Healings, Kids lining out side the door and piling into the room!!!! It has been so encourging and amazing to watch and be apart of!!!! But over the weekend we had an instance where a few of the kids that came in to the prophetic room, they came not only carring insane amount of "critters" they came with intentions to argue, and prove us wrong...After about 5 minutes of trying to talk to these 3 young boys I knew things were quickly leading down a path I wasn't going to go down... I called in my spiritual covering to help diffuse the situation and they actully just ended up walking out on their own. A few of the people prophecing were getting a little discouraged and almost effected at the presence those boys had brought with them....   God has just been speaking to me and reminding me that in the midst of Him moving, and awesome things are happening, lives are being changed! We also have to be prepared for the devil to start stiring things up!!! ha! He is not just going to sit back and watch, he is going to start throwing things at us to get us distracted, or disappointed....WE NEED TO BE PREPAIRED IN AND OUT OF SEASON!!!!  While good things are happening around you, while God is moving, while lives are beign changed, do not forget that you are fighting in a war and that the devil will do anything he can to kill you!   What was amazing is that even while we were feeling a little dissapointed and mocked, God was still moving and kids were still Hungry! We had 3 girls come in get prophetic words and then they asked if they could just hang out in there for a while longer...WHY! because they felt comfortable, they wanted to talk and hang out, they were looking for relationship!!!! Another guy who had over heard us talking to the 3 boys earlier came in right after they did and asked us what we were about and we were able to talk to him for about an hour and got to speak into his life and just tell him story after story about how powerfull God is! He told us that he had just recently lost a really close friend and how that had got him thinking about where he would go if he died but how he still questioned why she had to die...I started telling him about the family at our church who's 2 year old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and how they said that if  their daughter had been healed over night, it wouldn't have affected them not NEARLY as much as it changed their lives (and hundreds of other peopls lives) just going through the whole trial and tribulation of walking that out with their daughter. God see's the big picture! He walked out of that room so amazed and completly changed and challenged i have NO doubt about it! He was so hungry and we were able to spark a fire with in him to be hungry for even more!!!   God is amazing!! He is always moving! God, dont let us be distracted and dissapointed when things dont seem to be going the way we thought....let us keep our eyes open and moving forward, planting seeds, sparking fires, and changing lives!!!!!!!!!!   ~Kelsey RCSM 2nd year, FCC Orangevale, CA
