[revival-fire] Heartbeat

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******    

wazzup people. tonight @ heartbeat youth was incredible (big surprise =]    ). I just felt a sublte yet strong power rushing through me. (btw this is my first post). The last few months for me have been life changing one way or another.

 

I just felt like expanding what matt said tonight about the Christians whos ministry is simply a shirt, a badge, a bumper sticker, a large Bible, etc. nothing more (and im not judging you if you wear the shirt, wear the badge, or whatever. im refering to the "only's." again this is my first post so i may come off different than i mean to and i apologize before hand). What hit me is when he showed a shirt saying "Whoo Hoo Jesus died for our sins." (or something like that.) As Matt said Christianity in many parts of the world has been watered down, sugar coated, etc. With the shirt mentioned we've taken Jesus's torture and love and placed it on a cheesy, happy go lucky shirt that only makes the world go "wow. I thought Jesus was supposed to be powerful, not a cheesy rip off logo." 

     Matt's main examples were the bunch of shirts. With that said another thing that hit me was the cheesy (repetitive adjective, i know) rip off's of wordly phrases, trademarks, companies, etc. One example was "You To Be" with "like Him" written underneath. (an obvious point to Youtube). Instead of trying to change the world, weve attempted at becoming compatible with it. Look whats thats done us. The world isnt seeing a powerful God, theyre seeing someone who either makes you follow a strict line of rules or a God that does nothing at all. That's not my God. My God created and has power over the world. He needs us to be lights that go into the world, not walk by it with our 12 inch Bible held "professionally" in our hand. I want to be one of those lights, and am heading towards the mark.
