REVIVAL FIRE - How Many Deaths must we die?

I Would Like To Trade

I have decided that I would like to trade. One of the famous songs of the revival heyday, and one that I am still fond of says, I am trading my sorrows, I am trading my sickness.
Today I would like a trade.
I have some sorrows that I am not too fond of, and I would like Joy for sadness, Gladness for mourning, peace for despair.
I have wondered recently how Christ must have felt with the betrayal. It is real hurt, real feelings, real time that went into relationship, friendship, and a real betrayal.
I talked with someone recently who said that sickness is an opportunity to show Gods healing power, but what about the pain the sick person goes through. Real pain, real hurt. That does not simply get traded, it must be endured.
For the person with a broken heart, broken marriage, God can heal, time can mend, but the brokenness is real. The pain is real.
For the one with a loved one with Cancer. God can heal, yet the pain of the moment is real.
I have grown weary with the pain that moments can bring.
Did Christ know the pain that one betrayal would bring?
Was it that pain that led him back to Peter, to that restoration.
Was it the pain of the coming loss that truly caused Christ to long for the one and leave the ninety nine.
I understand healing, I do not understand the pain.
In this life of eternal, how many deaths must we truly die?
This is not one that can be answered, only lived.
Healing does not erase the pain, it only points to the future.
Let us see where that destination brings us, and who will be there when we arrive.

Still on the front lines
