THE AROMA OF GOD

 

What do we say about the sweetness, the intoxicating aroma that is the sign and signature of the beauty, the holiness, the manifest presence of Christ?  Do we say the obvious, that His aroma is our very life and breath that we need to survive?  Do we point out the inescapable fact that without the essence of each of the partners of the Godhead, we would not exist?  For even as they (the Trinity) live and breathe and have their being in unity, in unconditional love and partnership. So too, we are partakers of this divine love feast as we press into and follow hard after the aroma, the manifest presence of God.  For the aroma of God is one that we receive thru intimacy with the Godhead.  True, deep, heart to heart intimacy is a product of chasing after the one who loves to chase after us.  The pursued becoming the pursuer, a kind of close contact "sport" where both, or all participants, are the winner.  For when we press into God, we leave the flesh, that would hinder our communion with the one we love, behind.  We open ourselves up to taking the Aroma of God into our very being, our true being... which is our spirit.  From intimacy is birthed transformation, deep into the core of our being goes His aroma, His essence, and the body is rendered into a vessel fit for His use. We are transformed into a vessel that will carry His essence to those that are lost and starving for love in this world.

The aroma of God is the blending of indescribable beauty that bids them to come, to seek, to pursue the one that loves them.  They do not know the way to go themselves.  That is why it is so vital to soak in His presence, to become so saturated by His beauty, His aroma, His glory that it is so deep in our pores that they cannot miss His presence in us.  I am not talking casual intimacy

here, with one we truly love; we are breath to breath, face to face, closely intertwined with our beloved.   In the world, intimacy is born of close contact, there may even be a bit of perspiration, of exertion in the whirl and energy of the dance with our beloved.  How can we not commit ourselves to the same exuberant dance with our Lord?  I do not mean to be crude but we seem to treat pressing into God as a spectator sport. To feel that the blending with our human beloved is the only acceptable arena for passion and passionate interaction.  God is Holy and passionate and a wild exuberant lover of our souls,and our spirits, which are our true selves.  It is ok to let a little passion into our relationship with Him.  Again, in our "real" world, all these things

are acceptable with a bride and groom.  Let us step up and step into a deeper more personal intimacy with Jesus, our Heavenly Father, our beautiful Holy Spirit.  Why do we place our spiritual relationship with our Creator in a box?  No more, we need to be done with sober and somber, non-passionate Christian living. 

 

 It is time to dance the dance of intimacy and to wear the aroma of God.

Is your dance card full?  Do you have room for the King of Kings, the Prince Charming of all the Ages, where is your heart and expectancy at?
