UPCOMING EVENTS

Coming to “The Light” Ministries
Wednesday Night, March 4th at 7PM

Argentine Revivalist J. Conrad Lampan!

J. Conrad Lampan is an evangelist from Argentina, where revival fire hit in 1982. After having received a touch of fire that changed his life and ministry, he came to the United States as a missionary with a burden to spread the fires of revival here.

His message emphasizes prayer as the beginning of revival and the absolute exaltation of Jesus as the only igniters of the fire of revival. His ministry’s motto is “Usher Jesus in and let Him be God.”

His ministry is marked by the miraculous. During the meetings, tumors have fallen off - literally - many paralyzed persons walk, and so many other miracles; but what is far more important - people give witness of an anointing poured on them that changed their lives.

Please join us for this exciting evening and let God’s fire touch YOUR life!

The Light Ministries Church is located at the corner of W. 6th Street and F Street in downtown Antioch, CA.

POWERFUL TESTIMONIES

Testimonies from Oklahoma City

Submitted by Don Keesee (nations888@aol.com

As I have reported, as we gather for our weekly outpouring/intercessory worship meetings, we sense that mighty work is being done out of these. They power a lot of what goes on. One of the main things is that teaching comes out of them—we send it out to various places in this country and other nations through audios (www.AllNations.Podomatic.com). This is teaching that has a prophetic element to it, coming out of the intercessory worship as it does.  We believe it is needed at the time it comes and that it brings faith for what needs to happen in people’s lives during the days following.

Anyway, great things do happen outside the meetings. In one case recently, there was a miraculous situation involving a sizable real estate transaction (we have had many of these—seems to be something the impetus of the meetings produce, in this case to a real estate broker related to our group who is involved in missions). I firmly believe that faith brought by the intercessory worship teaching spawned this. In another recent occurrence, very unusual events surrounded a miraculous escape from near death in a drug overdose. And the revival is bringing various daily personal miracles to people here—an ongoing thing.  It is very clear to us here that intercessory worship plus teaching plus just walking with God brings great miracles, great deliverances. Can’t wait to see what happens this week. And I hope that every last thing that is going on in Oklahoma City is going on where you are as well—and much more.

Some Really Good News

Submitted by Katherine Martin (river@kathmartin.org)

God surprised me yesterday. I was reading through 1 Kings and got to chapter 3 where it says that Solomon 'showed his love for the Lord by walking according to the statutes of his father David, EXCEPT that he offered sacrifices and burnt incense on the high places' (1 Kings 3:3, NIV, emphasis mine). Basically he was breaking Mosaic law about what was an acceptable place to worship. Nothing earthshaking there - the Bible is full of people who didn't exactly live perfect lives. So it tells us next that Solomon went to Gibeon 'the most important high place' and 'offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar' (3:4). Again, no surprise. It was consistent with what we'd just been told about Solomon. But the heading on my study Bible calls chapter 3 "Solomon Asks for Wisdom". So in the back of my mind as I'm reading, I'm thinking, no this can't be the point where God visits Solomon? But in verse 5, following on from what I've just read, it says 'AT GIBEON, the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said "Ask for whatever you want me to give you"’ (3:5, emphasis mine). Huh? Solomon has just done the only thing that he does that is breaking the law, and not showing His love to Lord, and THAT'S when the Lord chooses to visit him?

We know what happens next: Solomon answers that he wants wisdom, and God says because you asked for wisdom and not for long life, wealth or riches (the things Kings would normally ask for), I'll give you wisdom and all of that too (3:6-15). So God gives him wisdom and then blesses him with the other things as well. Not only does God give him wisdom, but it was a wisdom 'as measureless as the sand on the seashore...greater than the wisdom of all the men of the East...wiser than any other man' (4:29-31). God didn't just give Solomon wisdom - He gave it to him abundantly!

I'm thinking, what? This can't be right? Surely God isn't wanting to encourage Solomon's sin? If I have a child who is disobeying me, that isn't the time I want to give him a reward - I'd just be enforcing the wrong behavior. God's good and perfect and righteous, I must be reading this wrong. I even went back and re-read it a couple of times to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Then I realized - James says that 'If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him' (James 1:5). I don't know whether James was thinking of Solomon's story when he wrote this, or if it was just something the Holy Spirit dropped into his spirit because He wanted us to know this, but there it is. God gives wisdom with no regard to us and how good or not good we are being. Now if Solomon was given wisdom when he was doing what he wasn't supposed to be doing, how much more for us, who are in Jesus and have Holy Spirit living inside us! If God ‘did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will He not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?’ (Rom. 8:32) All things including wisdom!

I don’t know about you, but I could surely use some wisdom right now. When the world around me is falling apart and everything that can be shaken is being shaken and I can't rely on the economy or the government or all those things I shouldn't be relying on anyway, I really need the wisdom of God to know what to do next. I need to know, like Joshua, that the way to defeat the wall at Jericho is to walk around it seven times and blow trumpets on the last time (Jos. 6:1-5). I need to know, like Gideon, that the way to deliver Israel out of Midian’s hands is to make my army smaller and then blow trumpets, break jars, and hold torches and shout (Judges 7:19-21). I need to know, like Elijah, that when there's a famine in the land, that a widow who's about to eat her last meal is the person who's going to provide for me (1 Kings 17:7-12).  I need to know what God wants me to do next. My natural mind won’t know to march, decrease my army or go to a poor widow, no matter how long I spend thinking about it! Those plans go totally against what I would think was rational. I need to know the divine plan from God.

What great news that He'll give it to me freely no matter where I'm at or how I'm doing. Here's a key though - 'BUT when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.' (James 1:6, emphasis mine). I've had times this past while that I've sat down and said ‘okay, God, what am I supposed to do now?’ and felt like God had left me and gone off to Hawaii to figure it out for myself. I was being tossed all around because I wasn't believing that God will give wisdom no matter what. The truth is we have access to 'the Spirit of wisdom and revelation' (Eph. 1:17) - who is a person, the Holy Spirit - just because of who He is. Wisdom is Him and comes from Him, and He is more than willing to give it to me!

If I think, oh God's not going to help me now, just look at me and what I did yesterday, or God's not really that interested in me anyway, or God doesn't really talk to little ole’ me, I'll be tossed around never knowing what to do about my situation. But if I can believe that He gives wisdom without finding fault, that it's not about me or my commitment or lack of commitment to Him, then I'll be able to hear and know what He wants me to do next. In the middle of everything going on right now in my life and in the world, that's some really really good news!

TOMORROW NIGHT – Bill Johnson

Bill and Brenda (Beni) Johnson are the Senior Pastors of Bethel Church. Bill is a fifth generation pastor with a rich heritage in the things of the Spirit. Together they serve a growing number of churches that have partnered for revival. This apostolic network has crossed denominational lines in building relationships that enable church leaders to walk in both purity and power.

The present move of God has brought Bill into a deeper understanding of the phrase, "on earth as it is in heaven." Heaven is the model for our life and ministry. Jesus lived with this principle by only doing what He saw His Father doing. Learning to recognize the Holy Spirit's presence and how to follow His lead will enable us to do the works of Christ, destroying the works of the devil. Healing and deliverance must become the common expression of this gospel of power once again.

Bill and the Bethel Church family have taken on this theme for life and ministry. Healings, ranging from cancer to broken bones, to learning disorders and emotional healing, happen with regularity. This is the children's bread. And these works of God are not limited to revival meetings. The church is learning how to take this anointing to the schools, workplace, and neighborhoods with similar results. Bill teaches that we owe the world an encounter with God, and that a Gospel without power is not the Gospel that Jesus preached.

We will also be praying over and anointing men and women that are getting credentialed with “The River”.  This will be a powerful night of faith and healing!  COME EARLY – DOORS OPEN AT 6:30pm!

AND COMING SOON…
