[revival-fire] The very good debate about GODLY CHARACTER AND SPIRITUAL POWER

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
This is an interesting discussion..

I believe the reason why burn out hit's, outpourings cease and people become disappointed is because many people minister only out of gift/power and not Godly Character. Jesus was himself tesed in the wilderness for 40 days and he was the son of God! His character was being tested, not his ability to exercise gift or power. His ministry was then based upon Character with demonstrations following. The Apostle Paul was 14 years in the wilderness, again the place where character is fashioned, and only then useful to the purposes of God. He did of course arrive in Jerusalem and have a blast after the Damascus road, but as far as I can see his having a blast only resulted in him having to vanish at night after being lowered over the city wall in a basket. He then disappears for 14 years - not always immediately obvious when you read Acts. Paul only returns when God has taken his Holy Spirit zeal and crucified it. This is what then establishes character... The Holy Spirit comes, equips, anoints and empowers but then the wilderness establishes and matures the gift and power that is resurrected in Godly Character.

It is wonderful when the power falls but the way we run the race is determined by our character having been marked by God, so that death is at work in us so that Christ is at work in others.. 2 Cor 4.

We are constantly seeing people with Gifts and power pass by but that which produces lasting results comes out of Godly character.
