******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
Last night at our Holy Spirit meeting, our Associate Pastor Cameron Ross led us in “Impact.” He gave us 45 minutes to go into our community and let the Holy Spirit use us to impact people and/or the spiritual atmosphere. We were then to report back and share together.
I was in a group of four. We prayed and asked God for guidance on how to make this impact. One of our team members, Louise, heard “convalescent” - so we headed to the convalescent hospital. When we arrived there, we asked if we could minister to anyone. We were directed first to Margie. We prayed over her and worshiped in her room for a few minutes.
We were then allowed in the room of a terminally ill man in his 50’s named Robert who had throat cancer. He had obviously lived a hard life. He acknowledged our presence with a nod and allowed us to pray over. I held his hand. I spoke God’s love and promises over him. I told him of God’s mercy, about the thief on the cross and heaven. I asked him that if he was putting his faith in Christ, for him to squeeze my hand. At that moment, he extended his left hand to me (I was holding his right hand) to give me a squeeze. We acknowledged his commitment to Christ. We prayed over his life and commissioned the Holy Spirit and angels into his room. God’s presence filled the room.
Today we received a call saying that Robert had died. Wow! The Holy Spirit is awesome!
We also took five or ten minutes to pray at Trinity High School. We prayed, declared blessing and worshiped (the new school year starts next Monday). Today we received a call from a school employee involved in today’s new student orientation. She had heard we had prayed and indicated the orientation went very well.
45 minutes. God doesn’t need much time to do big things.
Lord, help me (us) to hunger for You and to IMPACT lives and atmospheres like never before.
