******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
Ryan, I LOVE your transparency & so does God! Larry Randolph speaks about getting both tracks for the train to run on. One rail=the educated clergy, the other=power people. That's quite a "Cliff's Notes" but he does have a great teaching/word on there not being a conflict but a need to get the tracks laid together in order to get this train moving forward with "power" AND "direction" . After all, God is the biggest brain there is, talk about smart! He's the most educated one in the universe. haha AND He's quite "Spirit led". Paul was about as left-brained (I'm assuming you mean educated?) as anybody around in his day & good old Peter was not an educated man, but a rough & tumble fisherman. God used both men powerfully & the entire world is indebted to these two laid down lovers of God. I read them both daily, don't you? In our church we've had miracles (I've been written up in a medical magazine myself) & even a resurrection several years ago...& on Easter Sunday IN service..what a hoot! I'm no dummy & my husband is a physician & we both love God passionately. We do express that passion differently though. There is no one proper way to "love". Our brain isn't the problem, it's letting it lead as opposed to His Spirit within. I've found my brain & His Spirit to partner quite well. The mind is a wonderful servant but lousy leader. Remember it's the CARNAL mind that's at enmity, not your brain. I would love it if we had more thinking believers. God only;y answers the questions we ASK of HIm. The scripture is full of thinkers. I believe we make a big mistake when we start dissecting people into pieces & parts then deciding what's "good" & what's not. I'm a pastor, but I have a medical background & we only "dissect" dead things. It's vivisection otherwise. There is no dichotomy in God or in humans as God created us to be. Look at Jesus. He is the only true, full "human" (per 1Tim 2:5 this "anthropos-human" Christ Jesus) therefore He is our "pattern". It is mind blowing to muse on the fact that we are, through His life within, made in His image & that He is the perfect image of Father God. It "may not yet appear" but we will bear the image of the heavenly & we do increasingly as we realize who we are & yield to His life within. For a "left brain" viewpoint I just read my husband your note & asked what he thought, he said..."Learning is not the problem, it's what God wants us to do, to pursue the truth of the existence that God has given us & the truth about creation because that is a manifestation of the mind of God. He wants us to pursue Him & therefore the truths of His creation. You should never leave your mind outside of church or anything. The problem is man's ego, not intellect. A manifestation of man's fallen nature rather than God's nature. " I like that part "The problem is man's ego" Bill Johnson spoke a couple weeks ago about the value of our minds, spoke of the extreme price He paid to redeem the mind. I must add that while a brainless body can accomplish nothing, an unredeemed mind is good for nothing good. History has certainly proved that out. It is ONLY by Holy Spirit's inspiration that we can co-labor with God & do the miraculous works of our Lord. There are infinite expressions of Holy Spirit & He wants to manifest those expressions through us to people IN THE WORLD wherever they are in needed. The body of Christ is extremely diverse because the needs & "doors" to minister are diverse. I pray we don't camp in two groups. You asked about resources. Have you read Bill Johnson's book-Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind:access to a Life of Miracles? Dennis Walker has some great resources as well. check that out @ http://www.dunamisarc.org/ He's a good mix of the two things you're looking at merging. In any case, I'm sure you'll get lots of response to your request for input, some may vary greatly from mine. Again, diversity is a good thing. Unity isn't uniformity but celebration of the beauty of the diversity in His ONE body. The bottom line is always that our aim is LOVE. If we don't love, Ryan, nothing we do counts. May heaven come to your house tonight!

Okay, I am a pastor, and have grown up in a Pentecostal fellowship.Something that has always been of interest to me (and as of late has become a passion) is seeing the gifts of the Spirit in manifestation-inside and outside of the church.I have two questions for those on the list:1. On-line, where is the best teaching available on the gifts-and flowing in them?2. Is anyone aware of ministries where there is either an emphasis on moving in the gifts for left-brained people (those of us who enjoy books-you know. for revival folks, those "Stuffy" people) or ministries where the ministers value using your mind and not dumping it outside the church BUT STILL MOVE IN THE GIFTS.I do not mean to be sarcastic with the last question, but I am tired of prophetic people who give the standard "You need to forget learning and depend on the Spirit" prophecies (which MAY be valid) to everyone who wears either a tie, wears glasses or, gulp, is "guilty of carrying a Bible to church with them. Some of us enjoy learning-and especially by the Spirit.
Blessings!Feel free to e-mail me privately.
