******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
I was writing some notes for an upcoming seminar and thinking of some of the posts in Revival Fire all of which led me to think and write something that is really bugging me.
One big revival, although we do not call exactly a revival happened when Moses went back to Egypt and delivered the people of Israel from the grip of Pharaoh. Why revival? Because the people albeit the people of God they were quite dead, slaves, otherwise lost forever, but a sudden intervention of Jehovah brought them all back to life, back to a desire to worship God, back to a desire mingled with real possibility of being free.
God move supernaturally in all kinds of manifestations. God set them free, brought them out of Egypt, gave them freedom to worship, and freedom to be the people of God in all the meaning of the words. How did that happen?
We read that God heard the cry of the people; we could say that in spite of maybe apathy there were still people who in cries or yearnings prayed to God for “revival” of their nation and a turn of their fate. God had also a Moses who confronted Pharaoh with a shout rooted in the authority of God’s call on his life: “let my people go”.
I have two questions. Number one: How many people are praying for revival? Probably a lot. Number two: How many Moses do we have who dare confronting the enemy with a cry of “let my people go”? Not sure about this one.
Many of us have been praying for power. It is not more power that we need. God is our God, the power is on our side. We need authority to use that power. The devil has a lot of power, but he does not have the authority to use it unless we let him. Knowing Jesus, developing an intimate relationship with Him and making sure we move on what he says, there is the source of authority. However, all the power and the authority to use the power mean nothing if we do not really go about using it!
It is about time that we realize who we are, what we have in Him, and that we start going about doing good, just like Jesus; and what is more good than setting people free from bondages of ages innumerable? What we need is you and me standing to the face of Satan and scream in his ugly face: “let my people go” but not a feeble “let my people go . . . pleeeeeaaaseee?” What Satan needs to hear is a shout that blows out his face: ‘LET MY PEOPLE GO, OR ELSE . . .IN THE NAME OF JESUS”
