[revival-fire] RE: The Spectator Mentality

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******

A spectator is protected, not involved, allowed to criticize without sweating it; a spectator is an outsider who considers that all that happens is for his or her personal enjoyment, and thinks he or she has the right to it. I pay my tithes, you put on a good show for me, and if you don’t I will find a church that will do.

A spectator mindset is “all about me”. You don’t go to the theater to help but to be helped. A spectator goes to church as long as they feel well, to be fed by the pastor (after all that’s what we pay him for) and if possible we want pre-chewed food.

Peter and John in the mount of transfiguration had a crash course on this issue. They wanted to make some hutches for Jesus, Elijah and Moses: in other words they wanted to build a “stage” to keep the show going on. They said “it is GOOD for US” to be here, they did not even stop to think of the rest of people down the mountain who also needed the glory. It is good that we are here and not the rest of “them”.

Today I had a strange thing happen, it was raining cats and dogs here in Wales, yet I had to go to my allotment to water the plants in the greenhouse. A spectator-Christian is like a plant in the greenhouse: protected, visible, looking good but misses the rain.

The difference is simply involvement.

Involvement might take you to the cross though.

Involvement will take also up the mountain form where you will come down with your face showing the glory. A spectator will see the glory in your face, but will be the carrier of that glory.

Moses came down from the mountain and did not know his face was shinning!

Be blatantly blessed!

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******

Why as christians that are so hungry and want to do something so badly for the kingdom of God continue to have what we would call The Spectator Mentality. Why? Why? Why?

We cannot wait any longer and watch. I talked with a lady yesterday that just sayed I just want more of Jesus Jesus Jesus(I am in total agreement). I said but what are you doing with it. She goes what are you talking about.

I was instantly given a vision of a soldier sitting in his house with his armor on, a shiny sword a new shield. As the village was being plundered he was sitting in his house admirring the presence of the newness of what he had. Focuse on me, me, me.

We are warriors we have to take what we have been given and do something with us.

We have had this move of God of him taking us back to being his first love. It is for a reason. We had been doing things for so long on our own that Jesus had to take us back to our roots of knowing him. He has taken us there to know him so when we go out we can learn how to SEE & HEAR what his is saying in the midst of the WORLD. Not to sit in our homes and just do nothing. IT IS TIME TO DO THE MORE!!!
