The conversation here (about the Bentleys) is not an "individual situation", but a situation with broad significance -- profoundly disturbing to many on Revival Fire.
People who are responding on Revival Fire aren't an audience following some reality, "Divorce Court" out of trivial curiosity, but are our brothers and sisters who are watching one of the most visible, most significant "clarifications" or even "purgings" of our "revival movement" that's come down the road for a long, long time. And it's not the Bentleys "getting purged" -- it's the Church, the Body of Christ, and it's part of Her being prepared as a Bride (without spot and wrinkle) for the soon coming of Her Groom.
The "situation" you refer to here is not primarily the "failure of a minister" but the "failure of a Church". Here WE are, promoting "revival fire", and yet on a national and an international level, we need to process the reality of certain aspects of this thing we're calling "revival". Are its ministers "lone ranger" independents, or are they safely knitted and linked together, able to stand successfully against the strategies of the devil? Are the "followers" of "revival" following "superstars" or are they pressing into the Kingdom and in the Spirit following hard after Christ? Are "apostolic blessings" or "apostolic declarations" effective in any spiritual fashion or are they showmanship? Lakeland and Todd's separation have exposed these crucial issues for us, as well as many others.
The "individual situation" with the Bentleys is sad, but the newly exposed state of what we call "the Church" is awful, displaying ignorance in division, carnality in accusation, arrogance in judgment and a nation-wide, "knee-jerk" reaction that leaves many people wondering at how people who call themselves "followers of Christ" can be callus in shooting their wounded and saying, "Let's hurry back to 'church-as-usual' and bury behind us what's been exposed."
I agree that if this listserve (Revival Fire) devolves at any time into private conversations about individual (isolated) situations, those exchanges need to move to a private interchange between concerned individuals. But as far as THIS conversation goes, we're all "concerned individuals" in this Conversation.
Or, at least, IMHO, we ought to be concerned.

I tell you, God is looking to see how His children will move in this hour. Let us bring love to the table for Todd and Shonna, and watch what the power of our prayers can do to restore a mighty couple who have laid their lives down for their brothers.
