[revival-fire] The Smelly People of God

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******

God moves!

As some of you may know we started a new church plant in Newport, South Wales a few months back. We have seen the Holy Spirit moving in unusual way: well unusual for us poor human frailties that tend to think that we can tell God how to move! God has added people to this new expression of His body in the city and we have been blessed by an influx of homeless people, hungry, in bad shape, and smelly, and all this in a very “posh” hotel in the middle of town which is now considering kicking us out because we are bringing in so man y undesirables into the building: undesirable and smelly!

God is moving!

This small church plant is already causing a stir up in town simply because we wanted to see God move and we agreed with God that we would let Him move! The other day we had a service, oh my what a service! If you expect me here to say that it was such a good worship time, the music so good, and the preaching so anointed and altar time so powerful, and so on, I will have to disappoint you for the service I am describing was a big mess! We worship, yes we did but at the same time people were being ministered at in several corners, in the passage way in the back, and there were healings, and the music went on, and the prayers went up, and the blessings came down and peoples’ lives were touched, oh so touched.

By the way some of the homeless are no longer homeless! God changes lives!

Last Sunday a guy was attracted to come in as he was walking toward the river to kill himself. He sat at McDonalds eating what was going to be his last meal as he planned how he was going to kill himself. But then on the way to the river he was d-toured by the Holy Spirit and his plans for death were changed into life! He described heat, waves of heat burning inside as Jesus was changing him, and in his own words: “I feel I am a new person”.

One of our pastors was at an ASDA store (Wal-Mart in the UK) and saw one of the employees struggling to walk. She had an accident and her knee caps were damaged and had to use a brace in one leg. He offered prayer and she accepted. Next time they went she shouted to everyone: “Hey this is the man that pray for me and my knee was healed”. She had no brace, no more pain, knee as new; so much so that she actually forgot the appointment with the doctor where it was to be decided what to do with the knee!

God is moving. God moves, you just get yourself in place and He moves. But do not expect Him to move while you stay behind watching. It is in the frontlines where you and God move together.

Moving toward a move of God
