Re: [revival-fire] Jesus Christ, SuperHero

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
From my friend:

He was "in the beginning";
He is the only living God;
He has the Word and,
His Word (is Him, himself).
In Him (His Word) we live, move and have our being.
Alpha and Omega.
Sounds like a Super Hero to me!

So Pastor Rich mentioned in church this morning how crazy it is that people are all excited and lining up to see the Dark Knight. And it got me thinking . . . .

So many people today are clambering for a superhero. They're so hungry for someone greater than themselves to get excited about. If only they knew my Superhero!

He was so powerful that the heavens exploded the moment He was born.
He was so supernatural that He invoked the very voice of God when He was baptized.
He was so compassionate that He brought down the wine of heaven when the wedding
reception ran out.
He chased the demon out of the desert, not with His fists, or a light saber, but with the power of His word.
He replaced blind eyes and deaf ears with the power of His touch.
The power was so electric in Him that He knew it surged even when His robe was touched.
His vision was more powerful than the X-ray or the laser.
His vision went beyond the stratosphere and caused earthly eyes to see supernatural dimensions.
His vision went within the body and saw the inner dimensions of the heart.
His authority was so great, demons obeyed Him with a single command.
His power went beyond the grave, and retrieved the dead back to life.
His power was so controlled that He defied earthly authority with His silence.
He was so strong that He withstood 39 lashes on His back.
He was so strong that He took on all the evil of the entire world and carried it on that same, lacerated back.
His supernatural will was so strong, that He refused to use His supernatural power even when His supernatural army could have easily lifted Him off the cross.
And at the end of His earthly life, He defied death itself.

Who but a Supernatural Superhero could have breathed life back into His own dead body, rolled a boulder away from His own grave with His own hands, and walked back into this world on His own power?

Who but a Supernatural Superhero could walk through solid walls and transport Himself from place to place in an instant? Without a transporter?

And who but a Supernatural Superhero would have given up a glorious royal throne, all the wealth of the universe, and the earth at His fingertips for 40 long years all for the love of us imperfect, stubborn and desperate humans that He refers to as His Beloved??

But wait – He's not finished yet –

Because of all these heroic feats He accomplished, He is the Only One, in all the universe powerful enough and worthy enough to open the scroll that is presently being held by Creator God. He is the only one, the One and Only One worthy to step across that glass surface and reach through the thunder and lightning surrounding the Throne. He is the Only One that has the power and the authority to break the seals on the scroll and unleash the powers of heaven and earth. This one act will be so overwhelming, that all the heavens will be struck silent at that moment.

And then this Superhero will lead the greatest army ever assembled to defeat the most evil power that ever existed. His victory will be amazing and devastating and final.

Now THAT'S the movie I want to see!

And then I want to be a part of the sequel – the one that lives happily ever after – forever and ever!

So here ya go, Revival Fire. I know I must have left out a lot of the acts of our Superhero – so please add to the list – I'd love to see how long we can make it!!
