[revival-fire] 'My Hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' Blood and Righteousness!'

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******

This morning about 4:00 a.m. here in Germany I woke up with a song from the Passion “God of this City” CD on my mind.  I forget which song it was because now the older hymn I quoted in the Subject is on my mind.  I knew what the results of the election would be before I would get up two hours later and check on the internet.

The change that is coming should be in the Church.  Too long have we not been the people that God has intended us to be.  We are to be the voices of what is right and wrong.  We are to be extensions of God’s hands – not just for laying on of hands for healing, but also for helping people practically with our hands.  We are to give of ourselves and our finances to help others.  We are to disciple the nations, not the governments.

Here in Germany with some of the young people they really want to debate about politics.  I have found that if I be the teacher I am and ask questions, show strengths and weaknesses of different streams of politics and be calm and collected while speaking that I can get their attention and even affect their thinking.  If I clearly communicate then I can influence people.

Youth With A Mission’s topic for this month’s prayer day is about Communication.  I will quote from one of our (YWAM’s) international leaders, Tom Hallas, from his message to YWAM regarding this month’s prayer topic.

“I believe that a major part of what we, as individuals and as a mission, are looking for is already contained in what God has revealed to us in Jesus:

..        We exist because of Him;

..        He came because of the Father’s love for us;

..        He came as a human being; He fully entered into our condition as a Son of Man or
          Son of Adam – in our fallen humanity;

..        He became our substitute in facing the consequences of our fallen state;

..        He rose to speak on our behalf at the right hand of God.

When we formally communicate about a person, people groups or nations, do we represent the subject matter so that our hearers, particularly those who are the subjects, feel that we have understood them as they really are?  God in Christ became a human being forever. What amazing identification, extravagant love.   Do we communicate Him like that?

Dr. Gregory Boyd in his book “Repenting of Religion” says that the “New Testament leaves the people of God with two basic life commands that should govern our behavior,” and I think these are values that should always be the basis of our communication: “we should be motivated by extravagant love and be free from a judgmental spirit.”

If God in Christ reconciled the world to Himself, not holding our sins against us, then none of our hearers is beyond grace.  We are responsible as new creations to be free from a judgmental spirit and see others reconciled to Christ – just as we were!”

Back to me, in case you missed where I put the quotation marks-

We have the opportunity to affect our country and the world.  Some of it will be through the supernatural with signs and wonders.  Some of it will be through practical works.  Some of it will be through our communication.  We will need to learn how to clearly communicate Christ.  In many ways as the Church we have seriously misrepresented Him to the world.  We have been judgmental.  We have been proud.  We have been hateful.  We have not shown the love of God.  We have been Pharisees.  These things are not true of everybody and do not happen all the time.

In spite of who is in office and who controls the government we the Church can still disciple the nation and the world.  God is still in control.  “On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”
