I felt like he left me all over again this morning. Dread, abandonment, rejection, ALL hit me like a ton of bricks!
This touched me. We have to do better with those who are part of the body of Christ around us who need to be surrounded by perfect love, never leaving, and us receiving *them* and receiving the Lord and the ministry of the Lord together.
Today I was finishing listening to Martin Scott's preaching at Family and during the prophetic words he said, I see a young girl of about 12 years old who feels abandoned. Then to me the sense of those by-gone years that have not seemed as much a fulfillment of the beginning as we might have hoped came to mind.
My dad said that before I was four years old I asked him, how old do I have to be before I ask Jesus into my heart? He thought and said well, I guess if you're old enough to ask that question, then you're old enough. So I prayed, Jesus, you're so big, and I'm so little, and you know everything, and I don't know anything, and you can do everything, and I can't do anything, and I've been putting you off for a long time and I want you to come into my heart right now.
What happened? Oh my God, such a bright beginning.
Martin talked about the ways that God can show us his presence and he said that one time he was in his kitchen during a difficult time and suddenly felt like a hand was placed on his back. I was once laying down in my office on my back during a break and suddenly felt like a hand was placed on my back, and not like it was slipped under my back, either. That was surprising :)
The Lord can still do anything with this election. I found myself at lunch stirred with a sense that I could make a request about it at his invitation and I had to try to keep from yelling in the restaurant :) I don't think he wants us to be worried, but I want to stay ready.
I'm going though the gates of his choosing (of his approval) by his help and grace and I'm more aware of my shield than of what my shield protects me from.
