******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
Wow - not wanting to continue with just more words, and not having the time for real exegeting of Scripture here on Revival Fire - Please, let's try not to be ones who take scripture out of context.... Please.
We all truly believing that encountering God is the point, and that works alone is fruitless. But while many Christians are waiting, thousands are perishing and not encountering God.
Yes - while we wait in the comfort of our homes, churchs, prayer rooms, for direction, there is a lost and dying world out there who are longing for the encounter that we bring.
We don't need a prophetic word.
We don't need to hear a clear voice from heaven.
We don't need to wait for another program from our church.
You don't need to attend another conference.
and NO it does not require hourse of prayer.
Christ laid it out simple in his words over and over again.
Raise the dead, heal the sick! He exampled - do this with compasion. He exampled relationship and spoke of it, but it was always followed with encountering a dead and dying world.
Not just living in the world - but transforming it.
We are the salt of the earth! What happens when salt loses its saltynedd? It it thrown out.
COME ON - lets make a different - and lets stop giving excuses for why we are inafective.
And PLEASE! The last thing the world needs is more offended Christians.
Get over it - and change the world.
Do the one dying and going to hell - they could care less if somone offends you in your Christianity.
I am sorry - I am on the front lines fighting a war.
If you would like to join me - you would find me GOING! which means - you may have to get up.
Can we finally find what it means to be a warring bride?
See ya in the battle

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
I never dreamed that my suggestion of sitting with Jesus and PURSUING an intimate relationship with him, would be equivalent to complacency. Maybe it's the word sit that is disturbing. hmmm... There are many "busy" Christians in the world. That is a different kind of Go. The actual PURSUIT is knowing God. The rest comes as part of the package. However, if you focus on the package (making disciples, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons) you risk missing out on the TRUE purpose. I know, that I know, that I know. . . that ANYONE who truly pursues time alone with Jesus Christ has the rest of the package PURSUING them. When you carry the anointing of the tangible presence of Jesus Christ that is SMEARED on you from being WITH him, God sets up one divine appointment after another and you begin to do "only do what you see your Father doing". It works. It's not a life of complacency and lethargy; but of adventure and abundance. But when we focus on the GO and the WORKS, you end up like the poor minister Jesus describes in Matthew 7:21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' where Jesus says, "depart from me, I know you not.. you doer of iniquity". Read it carefully. Jesus is NOT talking to some laid back DO NOTHING kind of "christian". He is talking to a GO GETTER.. someone who prophecies, drives out demons, does MIRACLES!! ~ but Jesus himself says He NEVER knew him. Jesus calls him an EVIL "DOER"... What made his doing evil??? There is nothing wrong with the GO, it just must be done in order, and by HIS command. The trick is falling IN LOVE with Jesus. For when you truly love Him, the work is no longer WORKS but an outward expression of Love for Him, from Him and to others. The GO is no longer a matter of Getting it done because "SOMEBODY's got to do it!" TO go, because HIS word is burning in my bones and I can't NOT release it. Even though both ways have the same "outward" appearance of doing good for the Lord; only one will have the grain inside of the shaft and be wheat... only one will stand past the fire. Only one has the true heart of God inside. SO by all means GO! GO! GO! Love the LORD your God with all your, heart, soul, mind and strength.. and all that THAT entails. Be sure and post it here so I can read all about it :D I love you all dearly, CHER --- On Tue, 10/28/08, matthew Oliver <heartbeatyouth@msn.com> wrote: From: matthew Oliver <heartbeatyouth@msn.com> |
