Re: [revival-fire] The Church Body

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******

The question is to be: Is the church really about the institution and system of church as we as the western church have known it, or is it about the relationship between us and God and the relationship between eachother. The Church is not about a system, a format of worship, but a continuing encounter with Jesus and the building up of our relationship with one another, growing eachother in our journey with God and extending that love to others who are outside His love. I have not quit going to church, and I have not quit on the church, that is the people. I have given up on serving the system and institution of church that consumes our time, our money, and often leaves us void of genuine relationship as the true Bride. I don't think anyone who has left the traditional format of church are wrong, nor do I feel that those who are within the traditional format of church are wrong. We need to be where God speaks to us to be at along the journey and to be surrounded by those who need to be around us for that season.
Love you all!!! You are amazing!!! Wherever you are on this journey!!! =)

What is the Church? Is it a building? We all know that it is God's people - us. We are the Church, whether it be FCC or the thousands of others in Northern Cal. So we can get mad at the Church and want to quit, but aren't we really getting mad at ourselves and God? I think the strength of any body of believers is the influx of new people with different passions and views, and the old guard who continue to make contributions and add the stability that make things work through thick and thin. So the movement in and out of a church is healthy. I guess I look at the Church as a living and breathing organism where cells die and new ones are born and the body continues to live. We must honor our Church body by looking at the big picture and not get too pushed out of shape when we think something is not going quite like WE think it should, but we must also let those who feel the need to move on and seek their opportunities elsewhere - to do it. But, I think that could be a big mistake.

I will close with a personal experience. I have a friend, a very good and productive believer, that quit his church where he did fantastic work in the Lord because his wife felt slighted over some small insignificant issue there. Now he and his wife don't attend Church at all after trying many over the last year or so. I say to him - Come Home Brother.

Good Luck and God Bless!
