[revival-fire] From Revival Fire Oversight

Dear Friends at Revival Fire,   I felt it would be a great time to remind everyone that uses Revival Fire on what this list server is for.  Revival Fire was set up for people to do 3 main things:   1)  Post Testimonies 2)  Promote Events 3)  Discuss "Revival"-type topics   In reading the posts that have gone out over the past few days (in particular, the postings regarding disillusionment with the church), it is important to point out just a couple of things.  First, Revival Fire is not to be used to bash or rip anyone or anything.  I have a feeling that many people on this listing can relate to what has been written about the problems with the church - but writing about problems very rarely fixes anything.   Second, please do not use Revival Fire as a type of confessional - we as overseers of Revival Fire have been involved in ministry for many years and we KNOW at least this one universal truth - EVERYONE has problems with something.  Revival Fire is not the place to air out your issues.   Finally, Revival Fire is not a counseling forum.  When problems arise in the church, there are some that like to run to the rescue.  When someone isn't ready (or not under the covering) in the local church, it is easy to deal with this in the local church setting.  However, when counsel goes out over the internet (including Revival Fire), we need to remember this is an open forum, i.e. we don't have a relationship with everyone invovled with Revival Fire and are not their covering for the majority of folks that use Revival Fire.   If you know Rich Oliver and myself, you know that our hearts are for the hurting, the lost and the broken.  It is not that we don't want to help - the issue is that Revival FIre is not the forum to do so.   SO...help us out with this. Stick to what Revival Fire is for.  If you are dealing with issues, contact your leadership in the local church.  If you have been hurt in your last church, find a new bunch to fellowship with and let them fight alongside you.  If you have any questions about this, you can contact me at eric@riverlife.net  Thank you for your attention on this - blessings,   Eric Leach Revival Fire Oversight
