[revival-fire] To RUN or not to Run

******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******

Hey;
I've set back and read all of the post on this subject. First I want to commend Matthew on how you responded.Love is always the key. But Paul tells us that we are to speak the truth in love.
Running is never the answer. I have been in leadership, mostly as a senior leader for the past forty years. I have seen people hurt nad I have seen leadership hurt. But nothing was ever resolved by running. Eph. 6 gives us a prime example of our responsibilities. First we are to stand (not run). Second, we are to put on the whole armor of God. Notice that this armor is not made for running. It is for attacking and moving forward. Frankly, when you run, yuou always leave your backside open for attack.
Aaron, I don't know what hurt you or caused you to become disalutioned with the church. But know this the Church is being brought to the place of completion in Christ. We will all make mistakes. I have never known a leader who has dilibertly hurt some one. If they did, then Father will deal with that, not you or I. Matthew 18 gives us some clear guidence on how to handle these issues. First if we are ofended we are to go to the one who ofended us and try to resolve it. Second, if that doesn't work we are to take a witness and approach them again. If that doesn't work thenwe are to take the matter to the elders. And if that doesn't work we are to take it to the Church. I have discovered that most of the offenses that have come over the years has been misunderstandings more than deliberate hurts. To follow the matthew 18 pattern can clear things up fast. No confromntation is comfortable, but some times we have to face our hurts and those we perceive have hurt us in order to move on. Not facing them and running can easily become bitterness and that will bring only more hurt.
As a subscriber to Revival-Fire my heart hurts for Aaron and others who feel thta they have to run from the Church. Please follow LOVE and move forward.
