******* REVIVAL FIRE!!! *******
Hello,
On the recent word on San Francisco:
I see the passion and the urgency, and I see the concern, but words must be filtered with the WORD. My heart goes out to the prayer urgency and love and concern of the prophesying one, with honor and respect, but we need to try the spirits....., we are called to do this by God.
It is fairly safe to predict a California Earthquake, and I am not coming against Bob Jones or the time he prophesied the former one, I believe a prophet can do that, I believe it, I believe it, I believe it! But the doctrine of judgment on this latest prophesy is in my mind not very New Testament. Many do not seem to understand that we have a very distinct demarcation of change in God's view and resulting behavior towards man between the Old and New Covenant, evidenced by the tearing of the temple veil at the Crucifixion of Christ.
Do not bring me Old Testament examples of God's judgments and tell me those are New Covenant realities. Every time I hear a judgment of doom coming from a New Covenant person, I round file the word. We can't mix the Old and New Covenants together to bring forth a hybrid gospel that is loaded with a harsh punishing God. God is Love.
Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to save it.
"...But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more." Romans 5:20b
God's grace is unfathomable, and unending, and one must really decided if he or she believes God is in the earthquakes, the tornados, the hurricanes, the disasters, and if He is a killer, because this old cursed world and earth is groaning under sin's weight, in travail, waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. God said the Earth is corrupted, and the corruption creates disasters that kill. We must not confuse the fact that God knows when they will happen with Him sending them. That is not God's will. Romans 8: 19-22.
Satan was in the lightening that killed Job's kids, and the storm that tried to sink Jesus and the disciples, and probably the storm that shipwrecked Paul. Destructive and cataclysmic events are not "acts of God" - we are shown by scripture to come against and rebuke such things, and the last time I did it, I was certain I was not rebuking God.
Thou shalt not kill. Exodus 20:13
Jesus never sinned, and He has not yet either, He is the spotless lamb of God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is Lord over everything, Heaven, Earth and Hell. Yes, He is even Lord over San Francisco. He would sit on the hill over San Francisco as he did Jerusalem and weep, and say, Oh how I have longed for you..... Oh how I would have gathered you under my wings.....
Jesus is also "one" with the Father, who is Holy, who also never sinned. Thou shalt not kill is a commandment Jesus would never violate, nor would the Father, not in this New Covenant. They did what they had to do in the Old Covenant, before evil destroyed everything, and many died. The New Covenant posture of God is one of love, rescue, redemption, salvation, long suffering, and hope. He had this attribute in the Old Covenant but He had to protect the Holy seed of Jesus and remove people who would hinder it. Even the flood was a move to purify and secure the Holy seed of the woman which was a promise from Adam and Eve's time to Mary's time. God who had to judge and destroy did so as a husbandman who would have to prune, not because He felt like it. But everything changed at Calvary. This is the Christian message. How can we prophesy doom from God's heart and seemingly invalidate Calvary, and Christ's work of the Cross?
We love Him because He first loved us. If that is true for us, that is also true for San Franciscans, He is right now first loving them, in spite of some their debauchery and sin, and He would no more wish evil and destruction on them - He was totally disgusted with the "sons of thunder" a few disciples who were overzealous to punish sinners and hard hearted people.
If people feel compelled to prophesy doom, they need to get back to the Word of God and see that God is good. Oral Roberts coined a phrase that one could preach volumes on: "God is a good God, and Satan is a bad devil." Let's not mix up their job descriptions, and blame God for Satan's work and blame Satan for God's work. Satan is a killer. "The thief does not come except to kill, steal and destroy. I am come that they may have life and have it more abundantly." John 10:10
Satan is in the disasters, God does all He can to save people from disasters so that He might draw people into abundant life. He certainly does not want anyone dying suddenly before they are saved.
"Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth, peace and good will towards men." Luke 2:14
The angels were sent by God to declare this phrase, it is Divine truth, and it was about 33 years early, as this would be God's posture to all men once Christ died.
Peace on Earth and good will towards San Francisco. That is God's heart. That is His way. That is and should be our heart. The angels sang and glorified God because he was working a New Covenant out for man, and the Savior's birth was the earthly beginning of the manifestation of God's love and redemption, GOD had made peace from His end, and He will never ever withdraw that peace with man. It is an eternal covenant based on God's own character. The one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ, will not curse man or San Francisco, no not ever!
If you reading this are guilty about sin, God is not upset, He says peace to you, peace and good will, and love. He says, son or daughter, lets work together to get you out of that sin. He sees you fully cleansed, He sees you whole, He sees you delivered and so do I. God also sees San Francisco and its people the same way, He has a vision for them. He looks towards their sin, but can't quite see it because He has a Cross and shed Blood in the way, blocking the view. He does this out of love for people and for His own sake.
Peace from Heaven, and from God, good will from Heaven and from God, unto all men, saved and unsaved, reached and unreached, redeemed and unredeemed, found or lost, peace to them, good will to them, love to them, an olive branch handed to them by a giant hand, and outstretched arm, an arm of lifting up men and women out of the miry clay, out of the pit, out of sin, and out of loneliness and despair. Peace and good will.
Glory to God in the Highest!!
